  • AN EXPEDITION OF THE HEART THROUGH TEACHING, FILMS, REFLECTION, JOURNALING & FELLOWSHIP

What the EPIC ADVENTURE WEEKEND is NOT:

  • A TYPICAL MEN'S RETREAT - What kind of men retreat??
  • ABOUT BEING MACHO
  • ABOUT GETTING IN TOUCH WITH YOUR FEMININE SIDE

LOCATION:

Triple "C" Ranch near Livingston, Texas

possible sessions:

1.  Masculine Image – The perversion of fierceness and wildness has stolen the freedom to see why men need a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue.  This is part of God’s image in us as men.

2.  Why this Image   Somehow we have missed the whole story.  Many have come into Christianity as one coming into a movie 20 minutes late; they have missed some very important parts of the story.

3.  The Poser– There is something in us that causes us to hide or want to be more in control.  Just as one posing for a picture, we present what we want others to see, so we do this in life.  Unfortunately the “Poser” puts us in bondage.

4.  The Wound – Our question as men is, “Do I have what it takes?”  Most often the world and many times our fathers answer this question, “no.” It is this wound or wounds that drive us into posing.

5.  HealingIdentity and Name – The Poser covers up who we were meant to be.  We are individually known and created by God.  He intends for us to discover and step out into that identity.

6.  Our Calling and Glory – Discovering who God intended us to be may give us a glimpse of His calling for us.  We have a glory as Jesus said, “Father, the glory you have given to me I have given to them.”

7.  The Evil One and Our Battle – How often do we wind up fighting the wrong battle?  We were born into a world at war and if we fight the wrong enemy, we lose!

8.  Fighting for Others – We are not called into a self-exalting masculinity.  Our strength is for others; our wives; children, loved ones; friends.  We fight for them.

9.  Band of Brothers – Men tend to isolate themselves and thus become a prime target for Satan.  We need other men who know us and share a common vision with us.  Without this we will be taken out by the enemy.
